Inclined dimension tools work like horizontal and vertical dimension tools - on angled or inclined lines. The angle dimension tool works on any nonparallel lines, and the circular arc length dimension tool measures the length along any portion of a circle.
Inclined dimension by line
Use the CAD rectangle tool to make an object in scale to dimension. Rotate it. Then choose the Inclined dimension by line tool. Click on one of the inclined lines and drag to create a dimension.
Inclined dimension by points
To try this tool, first create a set of steps with the line tool. Rotate them. Then choose the Inclined dimension by points tool. Click multiple points along the inclined artwork and then drag to dimension their distances.
Inclined datum dimension
The Inclined datum dimension tool works much like the previous tool, except the inclined dimension is formatted to measure from a reference line or datum.
Angle dimension
First create a set of nonparallel lines with the CAD Line tool or Illustrator line tool (they do not need to be connected). Select the Angle dimension tool. Click once on the first line and then click again on the second nonparallel line. Drag out to create the angle dimension. Hold down the control key while dragging to dimension the opposite angle. Hold down the alt/option key while you are dragging to remove witness lines.
Circular arc length dimension
Use the CAD circle tool to create a circle in scale. Select the Circular arc length dimension tool. Click on the first point where the arc length dimension will begin. Then click the second point where the arc length dimension will end. Drag out to create the arc length dimension. Hold down the control key to dimension the opposite circular arc length.
